TOPIC: LIFTING UP THROUGH UPRIGHTNESS IN A DOWNWARD WORLD.

                                        

TEXT. PROVERB. 14:34. RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTS A NATION, BUT SIN IS A REPROACH TO ANY PEOPLE.

INTRODUCTION.

When God is your priority in life,it is not possible to be down when men are cast down in a downward world. Where you face determines where you will be lifted up. Looking up to man is an agreement into frustration.

  Righteousness is a lifter and exalter. When you put away uprightness  you embrace wickedness. We live in a generation where men are cast down. And that shall never be your portion in Jesus name Job.22:29 says,"When men are cast down,then thou shall say. There is a lifting up; and He shall save the humble person." Respect all men but look up to nobody.

A. THINGS TO NOTE:

(1) Understand that one of the greatest help God can offer to anybody is the help to maintain uprightness in life, ministry and destiny. The best God can do for a man is not to give him more anointing ,power or money,but the greatest is to help him maintain uprightness.

Every possession or qualification without character is to set up a disaster. The best help of God to you is to maintain good character and uprightness. The uprightness of character is a sustainer of the lifted and lifting of others.

When you put in uprightness you would embrace a lifting up even in the days of adversity.

#For_instance :

--- JOSEPH was lifted up by righteousness in Gen.37:2.'...and Joseph brought a bad report of them to his Father.'

Gen.39:4;42:18.This uprightness lifted Joseph for 80 solid years ,Gen.41:46; Gen. 50:26. Character took Joseph and kept him there.

----DANIEL maintained uprightness and lasted over years in Babylon. Dan.1:8;1:21;6:10. Daniel uprightness helped him to see the beginning and end of captivity.

----ABRAHAM was lifted by his character for 100 years Gen. 14:22--23;25:7--8. This made Abraham to remain relevant.

(2)The most celebrated attributes of God is His character of Holiness. Isaiah 6:1--3. The Holiness of character of God was what all the people could cry for in Rev. 4:8. What God celebrates,we must celebrate his HOLINESS.

  B.  HOW DOES UPRIGHTNESS LIFTS A PERSON IN THE DOWNWARD WORLD?

(1) Uprightness catapults people into the realm of God. God is not in a crowd,He is high and lifted one in the crowd PS. 24:2. It is not possible to be grounded when you live in uprightness. The reward of this person is he shall dwell on high,not on low ,nor grounded in the valley. Uprightness takes men to where God dwells.

(2)Uprightness of character eliminates forces of iniquity. Iniquity is a spiritual gravitational force. It has the capacity to pull down, Romans 3:23.Sin makes people fall Sinning is a falling.Heb.12:1;3:23;Esther 1:13-16. Lucifer failed because of sin. Isaiah 14:13-18.Samson leave grace to grass as a result of gravitational pull of sin Judges 16:20.

(3)Uprightness of character forbids enemy for the resistance of life destiny. Zech.3:1-5.

Joshua uprightness of character resisted the devil even as he wore devils garment You cannot avoid the devil if you are wearing his clothe What you wear determines who you attracts.

C. WHAT UPRIGHTNESS OF CHARACTER ENTAILS.

(1)The  possession of the fear of God. The fear of God must be your watch word. Job. 1:1. It is existence with the reference of the fear of God.

(2)The possession of a lively living walking conscience. Acts 23:1;24:16.

(3) Operate with the right motives. 1 Sam.2:3.

(4) The passion to please God.

(5) Having feeling for the welfare of others

proverb 12:10.

(6) The willingness to take a stand even if it means standing alone or being misunderstood.

D. SECRETS OR KEYS TO WALKING IN THE UPRIGHTNESS OF CHARACTER.

(1)The maintenance of consistent  fellowship with God. Isaiah 6:1-5.

(2)The continual application of grace and rich in upright in character Heb.4:16;Titus 2:11-12.

Grace teaches us to deny ungodliness. Grace makes us sober. To be grace filled is to be sinless. Somebody can be confident on himself, he then can crash nearly. 1Cor. 10:12.

(3)The avoidance of the wrong company. 1 Cor.15:33. Don't manage relationship. Anybody who does not share your character is not good to manage. Handle relationship carefully so that nobody will destroy what you have built for many years. It is wise to be friendless for a while; until the right person comes your way. Be careful who you give your ear to. The right association is one of the best thing that can happen to you.

(4) The steady injection of the word of God. PS.119:9,11.Eph.5:26;John15:3.The steady reading of the word of God purifies and cleanses ur spirit and inner man.

(5) The removal of the garment of filthiness and putting on the garment of righteousness at the place of prayer. Zech. 3:1. 

Conclusion. You can live right with God in uprightness of character even in a casting down world. Revelation is the seed for manifestation. If you have not reach to a point where people see your uprightness of character and became envy and angry ,you have not started. They may hate you, but they can't hurt you. Fear not .Decide to live for God in uprightness all the days of your life.
